AbstractThis paper describes the experience of a middle manager in admitting children and adolescents with severe autistic disorders to a government-operated residential facility. Success of the admission process is attributed to an open, collaborative process involving community members and Ministry employees. It underscores the value of the inclusive, participatory process in making difficult decisions and for using tools to keep the process of decision making objective and accountable. |
